Today's Featured Biography
Ian Keefe
Oh jeez... Some 20 years of water has gone under the bridge. So I sit here feeling quite nostalgic, and looking back fondly on my days as a Mustang. I imagine I enjoyed high school quite a bit being that I stayed over an extra semester. It seems every day was "senior ditch day" my senior year. Finally in January of 1988 I actually graduated so perhaps there is a a touch of the class of 88 in me. At this point our beloved Dobson High bid me fair winds and following seas. The next month I was in Great Lakes Illinois being yelled at by a very ill tempered man I would come to know as "Petty Officer Van Dyne". So clearly I had joined the United States Navy, and was being taught how to tie a wide variety of interesting knots and polish shoes to a mirror shine. I must have been very good at it because, now some 22 years later, I am a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer. I do not know whether or not I am the first of the class of '87 to become retired, but I would assume I am one of the first. Being "retired" doesnt suit me very much, although being paid to breathe is a retty sweet gig, still I would go crazy. These days I occupy my time travelling from place to place for Ricoh USA repairing office equipment (manly photocopiers). It gives me something to do now that there arent any communists left to fight.
I remember Dobson High fondly. The good old days, I had more hair and less waist. Choir of course was my all time favorite of classes. The lovely and talented Bart Evans will always hold a place in my heart. Other teachers who have managed to remain in my head since those days Ray Tanner (algebra), Faith Risolo-Umlaff (English? I more remember the name), Mr. Hamlin (another English), Mrs Ramiro (yet another English), Mrs Irwin (typing I think). A note for all of the English teachers who suffered through having me a student; the first bachelor degree I received my major was English.
So here I am now a very nearly 40 year old man. I am back in Arizona. Of course I am having my mid life crisis. I bought a completely impractical sports car last year, and my significant other is much younger than I am. His name is Marvin. We have been together now for, I am going to say 7 years, but I could be wrong and he will be more than happy to correct me. It turns out that I am quite gay. Not so much the Will and Grace kind of gay, so not flamboyant (not that its a bad ting), I am told that what gives my up as a ay man more than anything is how "polite and well spoken" I am (can you believe people have said that to me). Because of this, I am either gay or Canadian.
When I am not working I like to travel. Marvin and I go to Las Vegas, or take our waverunners up to laughlin. He indulges my passion for playing cards, and in turn I go with him to all of his Native American events as he is Navajo. I havent developed much of a taste for fry bread, but at the same time he hasnt developed boiled corned beef brisket and cabbage. I figure we're even.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
