Michael Cannon
COLONEL MICHAEL O. CANNON
Colonel Michael O. Cannon is the Energy Convergence Business Manager at the Defense Logistics Agency, Ft Belvoir, Virg. He is responsible for the proper management of Cost, Accounting, and Aquisition for the multi-million dollar energy accounting system in production for the entire Department of Defense.
Colonel Cannon entered the Air Force in 1981 as an enlisted Aircrew Life Support Specialist. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1988 and was commissioned through Air Force Officer Training School in 1989. His career has encompassed a variety of assignments, to include command of the 43d Supply Squadron and 43d Logistics Readiness Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, N.C as well as command of the 62d Aeial Port Squadron, McChord Air Force Base, Wash. He held several staff positions at Air Mobility Command, to include Chief of Supply Analysis; Executive Officer, Logistics Directorate; and Deputy Chief, Materiel Readiness Division. Prior to his current assignment, the colonel was Deputy Commander, 521st Air Mobility Operations Group, Naval Station Rota, Spain. The Group consisted of 12 units in 11 different countries from Portugal to Afghanistan. They were responsible for fixed en route support for the air mobility force from the Atlantic Ocean through the Mediterranean Sea and into the Southwest Asia and Africa areas of responsibility. He has commanded three deployed units in the US Central Command area of responsibility and the 727th Air Mobility Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, U.K.
He is married to the former Elizabeth Livingston of Spokane, WA. They have two children; Chris (21) and Karen (19).
