I started attending Incarnation in the 4th grade in 1955 after moving to Glendale from a small town in Wisconsin. After graduation I attended Pater Noster High School from 1960-64 along with several Incarnation classmates. After high school graduation I didn't have a clue as to what I wanted to do long term so I attended Glendale College to occupy my time and get my general ed requirements out of the way. While attending GC, I worked at Carlino’s Deli in Glendale and spent a lot of time on Santa Monica beach. Again, after graduation I still had no clue about what to do with my life. Then Uncle Sam decided what I would be doing for the near future and sent me a draft notice. I spent the next few years with the US Army in Germany and Italy. When I was discharged, I still had no clue as to where my life was headed. So I continued my education and went to school on the GI Bill. I got a BA in Industrial Arts at Cal State LA, with the intent of becoming a shop teacher. I never taught because I married my first wife (1971) and the birth of my first daughter, Renee, necessitated my getting a job.
I went to work for the City of Glendale. I worked there for four years and during that time my second daughter, Nicole arrived. In 1975 I divorced, quit the City and went to work for Bob Smith Porsche/Audi in Hollywood. I was hired to be a mechanic, probably what I should have pursued right out of school, but ended up being in Service Management (for the next 25 years). I really enjoyed the 10 years I worked at Bob Smith, I met some very interesting people and cars. During that time I married a second time for a few years and divorced. I found my time at the City of Glendale boring and the best part of it was the contact which led to my move to Bob Smith and more importantly introduced me to Diane, my 3rd (and final) wife, who turned out to be my soul mate.
In 1985 Diane and I left Southern California and moved to Carmel where we lived for the next 15 years. We enjoyed living on the Monterey Peninsula, a beautiful setting and an abundance of world class restaurants. We both love the ocean and when Diane retired from the City of Monterey as a City Clerk, I quit my Service Management job in Fremont and we moved to Whidbey Island in Washington and bought just under 4 acres of waterfront forest. The property is on the Saratoga Passage facing east toward Camano Island and the Cascades and Mt. Baker beyond.
While we are officially retired we've never worked so hard in our lives. First we lived in a motor home while we built a garage with a guest apartment above. Then we lived in the guest apartment, the “Love Nest” while building the main house, “The Lodge at Quail Hollow, A Poor Man's Folly”, which we have been working on for the last 4 years. We hope to finish this summer (as finished as homes ever are). We have now moved into the “Lodge” and rented the apartment. We also have a mother-in-law unit downstairs with a beautiful water view and plan to run a B & B down there. So, if you are interested, look for us (eventually) on Craig's List or VRBO. It truly is a wonderful place to live and visit. As I am writing this the gray whales are churning up the sand on our beach to feed on the sand shrimp. They come in the Passage to feed as they migrate both north and south. It is awesome to watch because they come in so close. You hear them before you see them or know they are here. We kayak, catch crab for the freshest dinner one can imagine and occasionally have we swim and play in the Sound (no the water is not all that cold).
Diane has two married children from her first marriage and four grandchildren. Between them and my daughters and two grandchildren, we have a beautiful family. All of the kids, grandkids and us are healthy, happy and prosperous. Life has been good and hopefully will continue to be as we start the next phase of our lives.
I am looking forward to seeing you all.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
