Today's Featured Biography
Carrie aka Carolina Pineda Burciaga
Born in Placentia, Calif. better known as La Jolla Colony.
Attended La JOlla elementary and Jr. High, graduated from Valencia High School in 1959.
Married Nov.1961 to Frank Burciaga, who was in
the Navy with My Brother Luis Pineda. Had four
wonderful children, 2 Daughters and 2 Sons.
We have 18 grandkids and 3 greatgrand kids.
My husband Frank was the football announcer for some 20 years at Valencia High. Both of my sons played football. My oldest daughter was in the drill team.
I was one of the Original founders of Casa Placentia, Developed one of the first co-op
preschool in the La Jolla area. I received the Disneyland award for this preschool. The preschool was named "McFrio" abbreviation for Mcfadden and Rio Vista Elementary schools.
I was employed with U.C.I. Medical Center for
twenty two years, as an Assistant Administrator.
Both My Husband and I were very involved in the Community, in many aspects.
We were also very involved with St. Josephs
Parish as volunteers. Orangized the Festivities for Our Lady of Guadalupe and was
choir director for 22 years. I had about 16 little girls at a time. My very first Choir
memeber was one of your teachers now, Paola
Ledesma since the age of 7 years old, up until
I moved away 2 years ago.
Both my husband and I, volunteered all the years our children were students at Valencia.
My granddaughters that have graduated or attended VHS are Julie Castro, Suzie Castro, Vanessa Perfecto, Reana Perfecto, and Patricia
Perfecto.
I enjoyed my years at Valencia and have many
good memories.
