Robin Ritchie Barton

My husband, Doug, and I live in Foristell, MO (far suburbs of St. Louis) with our two children, Michael (10) and Brianna (7). It is beautiful here and we love it! We are blessed to live on six acres of woods with a lake view and lots of wildlife around. Doug is a pediatrician and I am at home with the children. I do work a few hours a week from home assisting our church with technical issues (web design, accounting, information systems, etc.). I am starting to run again now that the kids are getting older, and Doug loves weightlifting. As for hobbies, I do letterboxing and scrapbooking while Doug makes models, and we enjoy walking in the woods, gardening, camping, birdwatching, fishing and taking day trips to see the sights of Missouri. Doug’s family is all in Long Beach and my parents have moved up to Paradise (northern California). My younger brother Colin and his family live in Tierrasanta. If you're ever in St. Louis, give us a call!

- Work life & milestones -

College - graduated with honors from San Diego State University in 1992 with a B.S. in Business Management. Ran Track and Cross-Country for San Diego State for 4 years each (2:14 best for 800 meters). It was a blast!

I met Doug at our church (Vista Grande in Tierrasanta) while I was in college and he was in medical school at UCSD. We got married just before my last semester and then as soon as we graduated, moved to St. Louis for his pediatrics residency.

Following our move, I worked as an Information Analyst with Wohl Shoe Co. (a division of Brown Group) until the company announced its closing.

I then worked as an IT consultant, contracted to Anheuser-Busch, for 5+ years doing computer training and programming for the various breweries (specifically MS Access database design, Visual Basic, and SAP implementation). I also did significant consulting for Solutia, a previous division of Monsanto.

After Michael was born, I wanted to work part-time. I served as the Church Administrator (office manager) for our church. This job actually made the most of my college training since it encompassed human resources, management, accounting, marketing, and information systems.

In 2005, moved to the neighboring St. Charles county in order to cut Doug’s commute from 40 minutes each way to 10. I wanted to stay home so that I could have more time with him and the kids, and I’m loving it!
