Today's Featured Biography
DEBRA SCHUMACHER HENSLEY-COOK
I went to Mitchell High all 4 years of high school. In my Senior year I was engaged to Samuel Hensley. I was a very quiet person back then and had only a few friends, two of whom were Linda Null and Anita Walker. I took classes to be a Cosmetologist while in high school and then decided it wasn't for me with only 100 hours left to go. I also took keypunch at the local business college, which I did use later in a job. My happiest time was the day I graduated from high school because I was the only sibling out of 6 to earn this honor. In Jan. of 1976 I moved to California with my fiance and was married in Sept 1976. In Sept 1980 I was blessed with my son, John who was born on 8/31/80 and adopted by Sam and I. He was the light in my life, I never thought that I would ever get to be mom, but finally God came through. I worked for 10 years for Mayflower movers as assistant bookkeeper and in August of 1990 I was hired by Social Services to work in the welfare division, which is where I remain working. On August 10th of this year I celebrated 19 years of service and plan on about 11 more and then retirement, oh I can't wait. Sam and I did seperate in Nov of 1996. During our seperation I met the man of my dreams, Jack Bunnell. He showed me love and how to love like I never knew before. He was such a loving man. Jack had a 10 year old daughter when we met, Sebrina. In l998 Jack and I moved in together and about the same time he asked me to marry him, so of course time to divorce Sam. Shortly after he proposed we found out he had Melenoma Cancer and it was Stage 3 and the doctors gave him 2 years to live. Yes he went through chemo and radiation and all kinds of treatments only to pass away New Years night 1999, 23 minutes before his 40th birthday. Sebrina has remained in my life and we do consider each other mother and daughter and she gave birth to Matthew on 8/12/06 and he brings so much joy into our lives, so yes he is my first grandchild. John during all of this became a drug addict and went through a hell of his own for about 8 years! In 2006 he entered a live in 2 year long program and ended up staying until the end of April of this year, he is now 4 1/2 years clean and sober. I am so proud of him. He currently works as a class A driver for North American Movers, just like mom did many years ago, I guess he takes after me. In April 2004 we did lose John's dad, my ex husband Sam, he had been very ill for a few years. In 200l I became a member of the Moose Lodge and met my current husband there. Tom has brought so much joy and love into my life. I never thought it could happen after losing Jack, but it did and on October 14th of 2006 we became wife and husband. In 2007 we purchased a home together and that pretty much brings you all up to date with what has been going on in my life. I did lose both of my parents during this time also, my dad in 1989 and my mom in 1996, I still miss both of them very much. If anyone remembers me I would love to hear from you. Coming from a class of over 800 students and being the quiet person I was I have a feeling there are not too many of you that will remember me. I wish all of you well and look forward to hearing from you.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
