Myron Tucker

Myron Tucker grew up in Westminster, Colorado. He attended I. C. Ranum High School. He then attended Arizona State University on a gymnastics scholarship. Following college Myron received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1976. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a full time faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and UNC Medical Center from 1982-1992 where he was the director of graduate education in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was in private practice in Charlotte, NC. for eighteen years and recently retired. While maintaining a private practice he held academic appointments as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Oral and Maxillofacial. Dr. Tucker is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as an examiner and section chairman for the ABOMS board examinations.

Dr. Tucker is an editor and co-author of 8 textbooks on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. These textbooks have been widely used throughout the United States and other countries with the book translated into 7 different languages. He has also written 40 chapters in 11 other books. Dr. Tucker has been very active in clinical and basic science research and has written over 60 publications in scientific journals. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally (over 500 invited lectures) on many subjects with his primary focus on orthognathic surgery. Dr. Tucker is currently involved in several educational and consulting activities and is the Managing Scientific Liaison for the Osteo Science Foundation.

He is married to Melly Blankin-Tucker. Melly is a personal trainer. Combined they have three children, Ashley 34 lives in New York city and works in publishing. Austin 33 in an asset manager with Barings in Charlotte, NC and Conner 23 is in the music business in Nashville, TN

Melly and Myron live on the Isle of Palms, just outside of Charleston, SC. They enjoy boating, paddle boarding, golfing, traveling, cooking, anything to do with wine.
