COBRA COMMANDER

The cobra is one of the most deadly animals on the face of the Earth. Yet, with the proper handling it can be docile and tamed. Why the transformation? It depends on how you approach it that makes all the difference in the world.

The cobra is a creature that rapper 1CHYNA has come to idolize. Why the cobra? “It means sneaky,” 1CHYNA explains. “But, it’s not in a bad way, just when you think everything is cool, bam! I’m on you and about to put it down musically.” 1CHYNA has become so inspired by the cobra that she decided to make the creature more than a mascot, she has become one with it by branded the snake on her leg in a prominent tattoo. This in itself is pretty amazing considering she has 16 others!

But where did this deadly viper come from? 1CHYNA reflects, “I was born in Tallahassee, but I left when I was a sophomore in high school (shout out to Leon High). Then I stayed in Daytona for 10 years but now I’m back because Daytona didn’t have the strong music scene that Tally has. But, I’m always going to represent 386 & 850 where ever I go!”

Taking full advantage of her new surroundings, 1CHYNA has slithered her way into performing at the famed TJ’s DJ’s Tastemakers Only DJ/Music Conference, the Riding Big Car Show during the Orlando Classic, Rico the Champ “Open Mic Mondays” at Episodes and Thrill Da Playa’s “Apollo Nights at Big Kahuna.” In fact, it was this musical legend who christened 1CHYNA. 1CHYNA remembers the conversation as Thrill revealing that “’you should call yourself 1CHYNA because you put yourself out there as the realest and there is only one real Chyna.’ At first it didn’t kick in, but then I realized he was a music legend after seeing all the platinum plaques from his 69 Boyz days so I knew he knew what he was talking about and I’ve been 1CHYNA ever since.”

To be the only real 1CHYNA, she understands it all comes down to one thing, respect. “I respect all female artists who didn’t have to have sex with everyone to reach the top because real recognize real and I’m one of the realest out.” 1CHYNA also holds much respect for those who are just as hungry as she is. To this end, she has linked up with fellow artist Rico the Champ to form Sniiki Grind Entertainment and be a force within this music game. Together, they have recorded venomous tracks such as “Gangsta for Ya,” the sexy “Milk & Cookies,” and “You Done F****** Up Now.” Taking a break in between she is now attempting to hit the streets with more music by now working on her second mix tape. With singles like “I Got Swag” and “Chyna Dolls” she is already proving she still got it!

Ultimately, 1CHYNA’s goal is to “keep it as real as I can be and to make a lot of money doing it.” But, if you decide to cross her path with disrespect, don’t be surprised when this cobra strikes.
