Today's Featured Biography
Ann Marie Hanrahan
After graduation, I attended the University of Florida and was awarded my B.A. in Political Science in 1981. Following graduation from U.F., I worked for four years as a lab tech at the U.S.D.A. labs in Gainesville and ran with the Florida Track Club, competing in road races ranging in distances from 5K to the Boston Marathon.
I attended law school at the University of Wisconsin and was awarded my J.D. in 1988. Following law school, I joined the Minneapolis-based law firm of Faegre & Benson, LLP, where I practiced with the firm's general litigation group and tried a variety of civil cases. I became a partner in the firm in 1996. I left Faegre in 2001 to join the Office of General Counsel at 3M Company where my practice continues to focus on litigation.
I have one son, Matthew Connor, who was born in July 1990. In September, 1998, I married J. David ("Dave") Prince. Matt is an avid snowboarder and is also a runner, like mom. Dave is a law professor. We all love to travel, read and laugh at our English Springer Spaniel, Blaze,who is supposed to be a hunting dog, but mostly she hunts for cookies. Otherwise, work and school keep us busy.
For those who still live in Gainesville, I hope you support my sister and BHS alumna, Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan. Pegeen is married to Tony Malone and has a daughter, Evyleen. Other BHS alum siblings are brother Robert, who is a Ph.D. nuclear engineer with Los Alamos National Labs in Los Alamos, N.M., currently on assignment in Washington, and sister Sheila, who is a "retired" computer scientist and full-time mom to James and Grace and wife to Tom, living with her family in Tampa, FL.
