Today's Featured Biography
Billy (Bill) Clarke
Following graduation in '57, I went to the Univ. of Florida where I finished a degree in music (voice) in '62. In the fall of '63 I began a teaching career by accepting a position as choral director at Ribault H.S. in Jax. At that time, Ribault was beset with problems and my tenure there lasted one year before I resigned and accepted the equivalent position at Terry Parker H.S., also in Jax. In '68 I left Terry Parker to begin graduate studies at the Univ. of Illinois and, after completing a master's degree, I held faculty positions at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. In '70, while at Millikin, I met my wife, Anita, who was on the foreign language faculty teaching French. In '71, I accepted a full-time position on the faculty of Pensacola State College where I taught until retirement in 2001. During that time I served as adjunct professor at the Univ. of West Florida, conducted the college and university choirs, taught voice, and held the position of conductor/music director for the Choral Society of Pensacola. Anita and I have two daughters - Rebecca, b. 1974, currently lives in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and Monica, b. 1977, who lives in Philadelphia. On July 2, 2012 we became grandparents when Monica gave birth to Edward Clarke Platt. Since retirement (and even before), Anita and I have traveled extensively - most European countries, both eastern and western, as well as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, and Hawaii. As long as our health remains good, I'm sure we'll continue accumulating (and spending) those frequent flyer miles.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
