Today's Featured Biography
Traci Dorman High
I graduated from FSU-PC in 2002, the same year I married Aaron. We moved back to his hometown (Duluth, MN) for 9 months before he decided to go active duty and apply for a pilot slot. We decided we would rather live anywhere than endure another Minnesota winter. We moved to Texas for training, to the smallest town ever on the Mexican border. His current assignment is Charleston, SC. We had our son Maximilian on 11-14-06. On 9-27-07 Max was diagnosed with a rare, fatal, genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I/II (neuromuscular disease). There is no treatment or cure for this illness. At first we just thought he was a low muscle tone child, but then he completely stopped progressing physically. He will continue to regress until his muscles completely give out on him. SMA is the #1 genetic killer of infants and toddlers. Up until the time Max was diagnosed we had never heard of this disorder. My goal now is to spread the word. This disease is considered an orphan disease (very little funding for research). It effects 1 in 6000 babies born in the U.S., but the fatality rate is so high there are very few living with the disease. If you would like more information on this illness you can visit www.fsma.org. Aaron and I are in the unique position of realizing what a precious gift he is every day. I spend my time managing his care, which entails multiple appointments per week and trying to make life interesting for him.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
