Heather Thornburg Evereth

After graduation, I worked full time at a local computer company as a receptionist, where my passion for learning and the dynamics of a small company eventually led me to my position of business development manager (or outside sales.) In July of 1999, Jimmy and I found out that we were expecting our first child, Alysa. We decided to marry later that year, in November. And while we were quite nervous, parenting and providing for our children came naturally for both of us.
We lived in an apartment in Ocala, where I continued to work at Laser Action Plus, and he became a full time employee at Publix. In June of 2002, we made the hard decision to leave our families and move to Tampa where greater opportunity was offered for my sales experience. We had been trying to conceive our second child, and were successful in doing so only two weeks after moving to Tampa.
Although we had moved for my job, we made the choice that I would then stay at home with both of our children. Jimmy was able to retire from Publix, and pursue his career in advertising at The Tampa Tribune. I speant my free time building my computer skills and slowly, but steadily learning to develop the complex scripts that power websites like this one. Being a freelance web developer has afforded me the opportunity to stay at home for the last 5 years.
In July of 2005 we purchased our first home in Wesley Chapel, FL where we still reside. Alysa is now going to be entering the third grade at DBES, where Taylor will be joining her next year. Time flies and I can not wait to see everyone from Vanguard, and Jimmy is excited to see a lot of you, also!
