Walter Philie who was born in St. Pete and attended all local schools passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 after a brief illness. He retired from GTE after 34 years...he will be missed.

Today's Featured Biography
Jackie Carl Robbins
Since 1969 I went to Florida State for a year, got married, had three sons, and traveled the country with my first husband. He retired from the USCG in 1988, and we came back to Florida. In the interim, I got a BS in Chemistry from George Mason University (1985), and MS in Chemistry from USF in 1992, Graduate Certificate in Public Management, USF 1995, and plan to complete a computer programming degree in 2010. My sons are married, Steve has four children, Chris and Jason have two each. I divorced in 1998 and married again in 2002. Husband Rick has two grown children and four grandchildren - we are blessed times twelve! Life is good, my next big step is retirement, which I plan to thoroughly enjoy watching grandkids grow, knitting, crocheting, making soap, or whatever else moves me! It was great to see everyone at the 40th - if anyone is in the neighborhood, please come by for a visit! Update: I was let go in the SWFWMD downsize, and I had already started teaching at PHCC as a Chemistry Adjunct Professor. By the fall of 2011 I was also an Adjunct Professor at Saint Leo University, where I remain very busy. I did retire from the state in May 2013, we took an 8 week vacation up and down the East Coast over the summer with our travel trailer. When we got home I traded it in for a motorhome - Life's Good!
