I graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, emphasizing Colonial Archeology and Forensics. I am currently working towards completion of Amphibious Warfare School through the Distance Education Program.
Military Experience
I entered the Marine Corps through OCC in the winter of 1998, and was commissioned a second lieutenant on 03 April of that same year. I then moved to The Basic School, graduating with Company C in October of 1998. After receiving a 0802 Artillery Officer MOS, I moved to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, to attend Field Artillery Officer Basic Course. After graduating from artillery school, I received orders to Battery I, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines (5th Battalion, 10th Marines), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During my 26 months with 5th Battalion, 10th Marines, I completed one UDP to Okinawa, Japan, which included Operation Southern Frontier in Northern Territory, Australia, as well as may other operations on mainland Japan. As part of JTFEX 00-1, I was the Joint Fires Officer aboard the USS Mount Whitney in May of 2000 working in direct support of special operations forces. I completed two Combined Arms Exercises, as well as numerous CONUS deployments. I then received orders to my current duty station where I served as a series commander for Company F for eleven months completing four cycles. I currently hold the billet of Commanding Officer for Company F 2D Recruit Training Battalion. Upon completion of my tour at Parris Island, I plan to attend Expeditionary Warfare School or Intelligence School and then return to the Fleet Marine Force at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Interest/Hobbies
I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies, which include hunting, fishing, upland bird hunting (quail and dove), boating, archeological digs, southern plantation architecture, forensics, and carpentry. I was a member of the Georgia Southern University Rugby Team, and I also enjoy playing golf.
