Remember Class of 1973 . . . Wear sunscreen . . . if it's not too late.
Remember this little song? As I looked at the yearbook pictures, I thought of it.

Today's Featured Biography
Kim Getsinger
Early on in my post high school life I met the love of my life Marty and we married two years later. We have two wonderful children, Joshua and Nikki, both of whom I am very proud.
Life after high school was unsettled, not really knowing what I wanted to do. I was interested in the medical field and had worked in the ER for a few years. I fell in love with the fire service, specifically paramedic. I pursued that career with tenacity after finding it to be very competitive. Eventually it all paid off and I was hired and trained to be a fireman. The City of Idaho Falls sent me to school and I became a licensed Paramedic in 1983. I retired from Idaho Falls FD as a Fire Captain/Paramedic in 2005. I was asked to help out in Blackfoot as a paramedic because they had lost two medics to Boise and guess what, I'm still there. It is so hard to leave this job behind. It becomes part of one's identity. I will continue until I no longer feel the reward. This has been a wonderful career and I'm not at all ready for it to end.
I also own and operate a tree farm (Wolverine Tree Farm) which takes up most of the few hours remaining in my very busy schedule. Yes, I am the quintessential workaholic. I am aware of it but I cannot sit idle without a feeling of anxiousness.
Hobbies:
I have an insatiable desire to play every musical instrument I can afford to buy. I have six instruments. Classical guitar is my main instrument. I play mostly for my own enjoyment (usually in the middle of the night) I also play bagpipes with Idaho Falls Fire Department P&D. I play for veterans that have past whenever I am asked. This is the least that I can do for all that they have given me. I will learn to play the trumpet soon in order that I might give them the proper salute.
I recently retired from Badger Medicine after 17 years. It was hard to leave but the tree farm is demanding more and more of my attention as the trees threaten to outgrow my equipment.
Ah life! I have been truly just blessed with success in almost everything that I have attempted with very few disappointments.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
