Nathan Kline

Following graduation, I attended a small liberal arts college in Arkansas. I truly hadn't got out much and this was my chance. The first day of freshman registration I met the girl who would become my wife, Suzanne Hopma. We sat at the same registration table since H and K are relatively close in the alphabet. We date off and on during our four years of college, mostly on and married following our senior year.

I graduated with a B.A. in biblical studies with a strong minor in English in spite of Miss Coon's heroic attempts to drive any love or appreciation for our mother language and how it works from us (bless her heart). I learned in the south you can say anything you want to about someone as long as you close with, "bless their heart."

Following college Sue and I moved to Chicago where I attended graduate school and we fell in love with Chicago style pizza. I graduated with a M.Div in 1989 and we moved to Wisconsin to take our first job as a pastor. The next 17 years we remained there serving the town of Pardeeville Wisconsin, and Grace Presbyterian church.

We were deeply involved in the community in Wisconsin. I served on the school board for several years. Worked with the public festivals in town and helped organize memorial day events. We continue to have deep friendships with the people in Pardeeville.

In 2008 we felt called to take a position in a church in North Carolina, Friendly Hills Church in Jamestown NC. As I've been explaining to people as to the "Why?" I just say I'm taking a long slow tour of the US.

Our oldest son was born in Chicago and our three others were born in Wisconsin. Evan (21) and completing studies at Covenant College in Lookout Mt. Georgia, Anna (18) just finished High School and will attend Covenant in the fall. Allison (16) will be a junior at Southwest Guilford HS, and Alex (12) he will be a 7th grader at Southwest middle school.

I am presently the Senior pastor of Friendly Hills Church and live in High Point NC. Its nice to live in one of the original 13 colonies so we have another war we can talk about besides the Civil War.

I'm looking forward to being with everyone the end of June.
