Today's Featured Biography
Ronald Reed
Like many of you have said, time flies and it is hard to believe we graduated 50 years ago. It will be interesting to see how we proceeded through life. Hopefully, you have enjoyed it to the max even with all of the trials and tribulations that have occurred.
I would have never believed that I would end up being a University Professor since I am sure that I didn’t shine at EHS. After EHS, I went to the University of Illinois, graduated in accounting with B.S. and M.A.S. degrees. I became a CPA and worked for several large CPA firms in Chicago. After working in Chicago, I decided to change careers and begin teaching at the University level. In 1978, I went back to obtain my Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas Tech University. Upon completion of the Ph.D., I started a faculty position at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I taught there for eight years and moved to the University of Northern Colorado in 1988. I was there until 2016. It has been a great life and full of tremendous opportunities and experiences.
I am married to Joan Romig Reed, an army brat from around the world, in 1978, and we have two children, Annaliese (34 years of age) and Eric (32 years of age). We have a great partnership and live in Lafayette, Colorado. We travel a lot and see the world. Our son Eric lives in Gent, Belgium, so he gives us an excuse to go visit.
I regularly see Tim and Connie Ogden, Mike and Marsha Corley, Ron and Sandy Grigg, Merle and Jane Davis, Dennis Waks, and Mike Neal. The golf trips that the guys take are the best experiences in life.
