Today's Featured Biography
Laura Bobek
After completing my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech
Communication at Eastern Illinois University, I began my professional career as a technology instructor. I moved to Chicago and was hired by a firm that provided Microsoft end-user computer training to employees with companies such as General Electric, United Airlines, Allstate, etc... A year later I moved onto another position with a company called Bronner Group (where I am currently employed). I am the lead learning services consultant. Bronner Group handles several city, state, and federal training and consulting contracts. I am presently working on projects including training City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), and Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles employees on various computer applications (both standard desktop applications and proprietary software). Although my profession was a bit unexpected (didn't plan on being a computer training consultant - one of those things that just fell into my lap), I have experienced much success with my career. In addition to my degrees, I have had the opportunity to acquire master certification in specific Microsoft applications. Computers... who knew?!?!
Regarding my personal life, I am not married and I have no children; although, I must admit, the desire is there...
I've lived in Chicago (actually downtown) for three and a half years now, and plan on staying here for many years to come. Although, it's always nice to go home(to Spfld) and visit family and friends!!
