Today's Featured Biography
Wayne Shaw
After graduation from THSV, I attended Indiana University (mainly because that's where the love of my life, Dana Jessell went) and began a tortured "5 Year Plan" eventually graduating with a BS in chemistry from Indiana State University. I also was in Air Force ROTC and was commissioned as a 2Lt in May 1987 and began a 22-year US Air Force career. I was a navigator/electronic warfare officer (EWO) and was qualified in the B-52, B-1, F-111E, EF-111, and the Navy EA-6B (including being carrier qualified on the USS Constellation). I flew combat missions over Bosnia and Iraq ultimately earning 2 Bronze Stars, 4 Air Medals, and many other military decorations. After retiring from the USAF in 2009, I began a 10-year career at Booz Allen Hamilton ultimately becoming the top Booz Allen contractor at 24th AF/AFCYBER. I went back to Electronic Warfare for a bit as the PM and Site Lead for Alion Science & Technology getting a new technical effort (JEMSIAF) off the ground at the Joint EW Center. Then I took a promotion to become a VP at a small company which unfortunately didn't last long. Now I am a "Principal Consultant for Aerospace & Defense" at Frost & Sullivan (frost.com). I was married to the THSV Valedictorian, Class of 1984 for 30 years and we had one daughter together. She is now a very successful Literary Agent living in Orlando, FL with her husband and her cat. I am now also a Type 1 Diabetic as a result of developing pancreatitis in 2014. At the time, I was serving as the volunteer CEO/President of the professional association for Electronic Warfare, the Association of Old Crows (www.crows.org). I am still serving on its Board of Directors and make frequent trips to Washington, DC for board meetings and the annual AOC Convention. At this point in my life, I consider myself lucky to be alive after my 6 months in the hospital in 2014 due to pancreatitis and am making the most of every day. I am using my Post 9/11 G.I. Bill to earn a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at a San Antonio University. I am 8 years until I reach Full Retirement Age (67) but based on how well I have invested over the years, I may retire earlier. I have fond, fond memories of my high school years at Terre Haute South Vigo and hope to one day make it to a reunion. Sorry to all those who might have wished to see me at a reunion in the past. It is on "the list." I have no doubt that on my deathbed someday, I will be seeing scenes of Terre Haute South Vigo, and Dana flash before my eyes.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
