Lori Phillips Holt

In the 1999, I suffered a stroke event during surgery. I woke up in a hospital bed with no memory of my life prior to that: No memories of marring my best friend or having children who were five and almost four at the time. I could not see and did not have any control of the left side of my body. I lay in a hospital bed surrounded by family and friends with no memory of them. Twenty-five years later, I have flashes of those memories of school, getting married and of that old life. My wonderful husband of now 27 years have stuck by me through thick and thin. He taught me how to drive, and tie my shoes. My parents and siblings taught me independence and to stand up for myself. In addition, my children who are now Gary who is 26 and Amanda who is 25and my grandchildren Gentry of almost 3 years and Ellie who has is four months have taught me to appreciate how precious memories are still to come. I still live in Columbus in the same house for the last 25 years and although. I once had dreams of moving far away but now I appreciate familiar landscape. I work at Via Christi Health and enjoy every day. I love to read books, watch movies (especially if I can quote the lines) and spend time with family. Last year for my birthday, my husband and I went on our fourth cruise and I enjoy traveling with my family. Gregg and I own a small home crafting business Holt Custom leather. We enjoy traveling to craft fairs and working in our workshop. Life is ever changing and improving for us
