Today's Featured Biography

After the horrible ice storm February 2002, vacationed in Vancouver, BC in April. Driving back to Seattle, WA from Vancouver to catch our plane, my then husband said to me, "Why don't we just move out here, we love it so much?" I said, "OK!" So as soon as we got home, we began searching the internet for places to live. Landed on Anacortes. Found a builder and a lot. Flew back out 3 weeks later. Loved the town, put money on the house, moved for good 6 months later. Never looked back!
Anacortes is on an island, Fidalgo Island, and is the stepping off point to the San Juan Islands. We're 1.5 hours from Seattle, 1.5 hours from Vancouver, BC, and 2 hour ferry ride from Victoria, BC. We're in the rain shadow of the Olympic mountains so we get LESS RAIN than KC! WAY less than Seattle! Temps are 35-75 in a calendar year with about 3 days of snow. We see 2 mountain ranges with permanent snow caps all year. Three pods of Orcas (90 whales total) live in our waters. Needless to say, it's GORGEOUS! Come visit!
I started a medical transcription business, LDH Transcriptions, in 2004. We transcribe medical records for all specialties.
