Today's Featured Biography
Patrick Lenahan
Not 4, not 5, but 6 years at Kansas State University getting my Bachelor of Architecture degree after graduating from West. But, hey, that included a full semester in Italy. After K-State I moved to Dallas, TX and worked for a large architectural firm, Corgan Associates, mainly designing telecom switch sites and tech facilities for MCI, but also did some schools and corporate offices in Texas and Louisiana. Texas was okay - good food, good beer (Celis and Shiner Bock), good music (www.brave.com/bo, plus others) and it was a good job. And, I met my beautiful wife, Carrie, there (married in '97, just before our ten year). But, let's face it - it's hotter than hell, the traffic sucks, Texas politics are a disaster, and We Hate The Dallas Cowboys. So, in '99 I drug Carrie back to God's country. I'm now vice president at Berger Devine Yaeger, a mid-sized architecture firm located in the Uptown Theater in midtown Kansas City. Was part of the Sprint HQ design team for a year, then got into casinos, worked on the 909 Walnut Tower remodel in downtown KC (now tallest apartment building in Missouri), and am now doing a lifestyle center (what they used to call shopping malls before they took the roof off) in Nevada. We bought a post-war Cape Cod house in Prairie Village and it seems like there's always something to repair or upgrade, so I always have a good excuse to go out and buy another tool. Carrie is capital campaign manager for the new downtown theater of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, and she performs on and off at various community theatres in town. We celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary this year. Oh, yeah, I still play with trains.
