I earned a living as a Psychologist for 34 years (Retiring in 1998). In my spare time I dabbled in residential construction and land development. These days Social Security checks, retirement account cheese and the milk from other investment cows keep my bills paid. My wife and I are trying hard to figure out how to spend our children's inheritance before we are too old and demented to know what we are doing. It is a battle with time and dementia that we are bound to lose.
Thus far, we have been content to remain in Michigan year 'round. I can see that this will not always be the case. One of these years we will probably be spending the most miserable Winter months in the southern climes, as many of our friends are doing now. The climates of Florida, Arizona and California are really not bad during February and March! (Compared with the bone-chilling temperatures and winds that Michigan provides during those dark days.)
While our elder daughter will be staying in Mid-Michigan with her family, the younger is bound to live elsewhere. Currently she is in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband and 2 children. The bottom line is that we will be living here in Fenton for most of the rest of our days.... at least that is our plan. (Do you know how to make God laugh? Tell him that you have "a plan" for tomorrow.)
