Today's Featured Biography
Debra Weller Maschino
After graduating from Rockford, I went to GRJC for 2 years and worked at Wolverine World Wide and Mr. Fables on 28th St. After graduating from GRJC with an accounting Associate, I entered Ferris State College and went into Information Systems and Accounting. College was a great time and I kept a lot of my Rockford friends since I was home almost every weekend to work and I played intermural sports with some of them.
I graduated with my Computer Data Processing bachelors degree in 1980 and went to work at GM in Flint, MI. It was quite a culture shock from Rockford! I lived in downtown Flint when I first moved there! I was transitioned to EDS in 1985 when GM bought them and I remained with GM and EDS for 27 years rising to the corporate level.
In the mean time, I got married and had 3 boys whom I love very much and am VERY proud of. I was their soccer coach and team parent for most of their long school years in AYSO. I also bowled and played softball, golf and racketball until my knees gave out. Now I do mostly crafts like stained glass, painting and gardening. I love to travel to different places and just kick back and relax too.
I finally got tired of the corporate culture and slowness and lack of progress in the company and I quit EDS in early 2007. I went to work for a private consulting company in Computer Metrics and Process Improvement. In 2008, I decided to enter the corporate world again and am now employed by NASCO in Atlanta Georgia!
I have been to every class reunion that we have had and I must say that they are very special to me. I love meeting and greeting old friends and especially some that I never talked to in HS. It is so nice to see how well we get along and how much we have in common now that we are all approaching the big 5-oh!
I look forward to our next reunion and I hope to see more attendees next time.
