Today's Featured Biography
Tom Sampson
I attended Jackson Tech School after graduation. After tech school I worked for Control Data, Fairmont Appliance and TV, TV center. In 1979 Deb and I purchased a business in Brainerd, Mn renamed it Tom's TV inc. which we still operate today and is the parent company of Audio Video Technical Services, which is the commercial division of our business, Electronic Decor which is the residential side of the business. Over the years we have morphed into a custom systems integration company and technology
contractor. We also operate Sampson Properties which owns and rents commercial, residential and vacation real-estate. For a few years I also operated a Dive Shop. All this has kept Deb and me really busy. In 1984 I obtained my private pilots license and purchased an airplane. This has allowed our family to travel the U.S. and create many fun memories. Our Family has also traveled extensively throughout Central America, (Honduras, Costa Rica, Belize, and Guatemala) and has enjoyed Scuba Diving, exploring the jungle and rain forests, fishing, hiking, and just relaxing on the beach. Our daughter Jamie was married in Costa Rica and resides in Minneapolis with her husband Shawn. Our son Phil was married in Honduras, he resides here in Brainerd with his wife Jessie and son Reef. Our Grandson Reef was born March 1st 2010. He is the highlight of our lives, we spend as much time as possible (or allowed) with him, looking forward to Disney World with him, but his parents say not yet... Deb and I try to spend 4 to 5 weeks at our home on Padre Island Texas each winter, where I enjoy fishing on the beach, deep sea fishing, and day trips to Mexico. We are members of the Central Lakes Corvette Club and enjoy going on Friday night dinner cruises with the club and occasional weekend trips. As we have gotten older the traveling has slowed down and I really enjoy just hanging out at home with family and friends. I love living in the Brainerd Lakes area, it is truly God’s Country and has been a great place to raise a family.
