After graduating from the U or M in 1963, I worked at North Memorial Hospital Physical Therapy Dept. for 7 years. I then moved to Western Wisconsin to start new Physical Therapy departments in 4 hospitals-Cumberland, Rice Lake, Barron and Spooner. After working there for 3 yaars, I moved to Osceola, Wi to start a new Physical Therapy Dept in the neighboring town of St. Croix Falls. I worked there for 7 years. I then contracted in several Nursing Homes and Hospitals for the next 15 years before settling at Amery Regional Medical Center, which is still my current facility. I am an Ergonomic Specialist and do Post-Offer Testing for all new employees, as well as Functional Capacity Evaluations (to get patients back to work) and Job Analysis at businesses. I also evaluate and treat patients each day I work and have recently published an exercise guide called "SIT AND GET FIT".
I earned a Private Pilot's license from Crystal Airport, while I worked at North Memorial Hospital. It came in handy when I moved to Cumberland, WI. I took lessons and flew a float plane as well. I garden, exercise, craft, knit, crochet, sew, decorate and travel.
I retired from Physical Therapy in January of 2010. I am now busier than ever!
