Today's Featured Biography
Philip Brown
After Blue Springs - Followed Jim Bob Snyder, Terry Gammon, Mike Tribble, John Pinkerton, Steve Williams, Rick Ormsby, Ken McCalpin and many other BSHS grads to Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. Later that year, Terry Gammon, Steve Williams and Rick Ormsby and I pledged the same fraternity, joining Jim Bob at Lambda Chi Alpha. Graduated with a BS in Computer Science in ’76 and headed to Dallas for a couple years before moving to Redmond, Washington where we would spend the next 40 plus years. About three years ago, Caren and I moved to Parker, Colorado to be closer to our two sons, their wives, and a grandson.
Family – Met Caren Haley through the Greek system at CMSU and we were married in 1977 while I was working in Dallas. We soon moved to Redmond, WA. where we would have two sons, first in 1982 and the second in 1986. As they grew, we stayed involved in both their school (Caren was a PTSA pres.) and their sports (I was a Little League Pres.). Both Son’s graduated from Washington State University in Eastern, WA and both eventually ended up moving to Parker, CO. Once both boys were established in Parker we decided three years ago to follow them. Later that year I retired.
Career
Career included two successful startups and numerous remote sales offices positions. Most recently, held the National Account Manager position at a startup I cofounded. I retired from this company three years ago. At a previous startup, was part of a two-person sales team brought in at year five to diversify account base in hopes of selling. We were able to sell company at year ten. Before mobile focus, sold various electronic networking systems to enterprise level accounts in Seattle, including Boeing, Microsoft and Aldus.
