Today's Featured Biography
Scott Branstetter
I went to school at CMSU, now University of Central Missouri. Got a BS in Industrial Hygiene in 1994. Moved to St. Louis and worked for a small safety/IH consulting firm until Carol graduated with her Chemical Engineering degree in 1997. We moved to glamorous Marshalltown, IA for her job at Fisher Controls. I also wound up working for Fisher.
We lived in Marshalltown until 2001 when we moved to Gonzales, Louisiana. That was the craziest move we ever made, but we loved living there and totally embraced the culture. We had great friends and Eli was born in LA. It will always be one of the most special places that we lived. Unfortunately, the job was 60 hours per week in the slow season. When a former boss offered an opportunity we packed up and moved to Kalamazoo, MI with Eaton.
We really like Kalamazoo after a while, but the cold was unpleasant and being away from the unbelievably friendly LA culture was a major shock. We were used to everyone stopping us to talk and hold Eli. In Kalamazoo no one would even make eye contact. We felt invisible. Fortunately, Eaton is a great company and I found my place. Caleb was born in Kalamazoo. He is 18 months younger than Eli and we are often asked if they are twins. We were in Kalamazoo for about 2 years when a job came open in Oklahoma City.
OKC was the worst plant in Eaton from a safety perspective. I went down there in February 2006. Carol and the kids joined me a couple of months later. We were making real progress on all of our metrics, but in June they announced that we were closing the plant. We finished the closure in October 2006.
On Caleb's 3rd birthday we closed on our third home in his lifetime (November 2006). 2006 was an eventful year: 2 big moves, 2 new jobs, 2 home sales, multiple interviews, 3 house-hunting trips, and a plant closure. Don't know how we did it, but you just do what you have to at the time.
This time we landed in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH. I am the Facilities Manager for Eaton's world headquarter campus. Carol is an awesome stay-at-home mom, Eli started kindergarten this year and Caleb is doing his last year of pre-school. Everyone is settled in and really enjoying the area.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
