Jerry Jones
Lieutenant Colonel Jerry C. Jones’ BIO
LTC Jerry C. Jones received a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1987, after graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso, and receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
After graduating from both the Quartermaster Officers’ Basic Course and Basic Airborne School in 1987, LTC Jones was assigned to 229th Supply and Service Company, 2nd Support Command, Augsburg, Germany. While assigned to 229th S& S Co, 1st Maintenance Battalion, he served as a Petroleum Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Company Motor Officer. LTC Jones deployed with 229th S& S Co as the Executive Officer for Desert Shield and Desert Storm from November 1990 to May 1991.
Upon returning to the Quartermaster Center and School, Ft Lee, VA Jul 1991, LTC Jones completed the Quartermaster Officer Advanced Course, Mortuary Affairs Course, Standard Property Book-Redesign and the Parachute Rigger Course. In April 1992, LTC Jones was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina as the Division Property Book Officer and shortly thereafter to the 782nd Main Support Battalion, where he completed the Jumpmaster Course and commanded the Headquarters and Alpha Company, 782nd MSB.
In Feb 1995, LTC Jones attended the Combined Armed Service School at Fort Leavenworth, KS. Following CAS3, he joined the Third United States Army Headquarters in Fort McPherson, GA where she served as the Petroleum and Water Officer, Third Army G4.
In December of 1997, LTC Jones arrived at Fort Lee, VA where he served as the Deputy Director of the Aerial Delivery and Field Service Department. Following this assignment, he was assigned to 49th QM Group, 240th QM Bn as the Operations Officer. Following this assignment, he served as the Executive Officer, 240th QM Bn. While assigned to Fort Lee, VA, LTC Jones deployed to Bosina, Herzegovia and Seirra Leone, West Africa. Upon returning from Africa, LTC Jones changed station to Camp Casey, Korea where he was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division, Division Support Command as the Support Operation Officer.
Her last assignment was the Commander of the 1st Corps Support Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from July 2000 through August 2002.
His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Cluster; the Army Achievement Medal with to Oak Leaf Cluster, Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the NATO Medal. His badges include the Master Parachutist Badge,the Parachute Rigger Badge and various Foreign jump wings.
LTC Jones is married to LaSonya Y. Jones and they have one daughter Alexia Danielle Jones.
