Today's Featured Biography
Shelby Hurst Thomas
Native Charlottean with several generations of Mecklenburg County on the family tree. Original home was on the land where my grandfather owned a dairy farm consisting of 97 acres across from SouthPark. Phillips are cousins as in Phillips Place and attended the old Sharon Elementary School. Married for 41 years, 2 children and 4 grandchildren; most family members still in Mecklenburg County; we just can't leave a good thing. Moved to Pineville recently to a 55 and older community which is fantastic - we have trouble keeping up with the 70 year olds. Life is good, and great most of the time. Miss the old days more as I get older, but enjoy the new days as well. Can't believe what an empact East High has had on my life...never forget who you are or where you are from. High school was great for me and I loved it as opposed to those who would just as soon forget it. Wish I could go back, not to do over, but just to enjoy it again.
