Bobbie Fish Long
Hello folks,
I am looking forward to visiting with you all. A huge thanks to those of you on the reunion committee organizing this. I appreciate all your hard work!
As for me, I have been living in the Coulwood area of NW Charlotte for almost 20 years now. My husband of 20 years and I are busy with the 3 kids, 3 dogs, and life in general. I am a registered dietitian who specializes in diabetes education. When my twins were born 10 weeks early, I left Gaston Memorial Hospital to be a stay at home mom for about 5 years. When they started to school I started working part-time (or less at times) as a diabetes educator at Presbyterian Hospital. In an effort to stay only part-time I have changed jobs often, moving from Presby to Gaston Memorial's diabetes ed department, then to the program at Lincoln Medical Center, and finally to CMC. I love my work, but I love my family more. This mix seems to work well for us.
I am usually in Gastonia about once a week to see my dad who lives in an assisted living center. My mom died rather suddenly almost 4 years ago, dad just wasn't safe at home alone. My kids think that Gastonia is a great place because we rarely come to town without me seeing someone I know. Between growing up there, church, and working at GMH for almost 15 years, I have been fortunate to meet a lot of people! Hopefully, I will see you too!
Unfortunately most of you will not recognize me at the reunion. Here is a hint: I will be the short, fat, brunette, with lots of gray hair! Between my family, job, and my dad, I am on the go alot. I enjoy gardening as a hobby. So, if it's time to split your perennials, think of me. I share too!
I am looking forward to seeing you all!
God bless!
Bobbie Fish Long
10-20-2008 addendum
I am sorry that I was not able to attend the reunion. It looks like you all had a great time! My husband was hospitalized with a DVT in his leg in late August, and was "grounded" from long distance travel for over a month. This forced us to reschedule a trip to Knoxville to that weekend. My father-in-law died last winter and we needed to take care of some things for my mother in law before the weather changed. I waited till the last minute in case we could come up with another option, but this was what worked best for my family.
Please feel free to contact me at the e-mail or phone # provided. Take care!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
