Career steps to date: Graduated from College in 1971 with a BS in Secondary School Science (after marrying and having son Jamie in 1969) and taught 10th grade Biology and later 12th grade Anatomy and Physiology 1971-1975; Entered U of Neb Med School in Omaha July 76- Opted for the 3 year program (no summers off) completing training in 1979. Residency in Diagnostic Radiology Univ of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics 1980-1983; Finally, at the ripe old age of 36 I entered medical practice-I worked initially in Minnesota while Jamie finished high school and then moved to California in 1987 and have been there since. I have subspecialized in breast imaging and intervention since 1988, running breast centers first in Southern California Long Beach and Laguna Beach-moved to Northern California in 2001 practicing in Carmel/Monterey since; I have 20-30 appointments a day with women with breast problems and do their mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, needle biopsies etc to diagnose their problem.
Marriage/Family info: Married Bill Roux in 1969, had 1son Jamie and divorced in 1976, just before entering med school. Have been with Gordy Litster since 1990, having met as neighbors living on the same beach in So Cal. Currently we spend time between his homes in Corona Del Mar (Orange County) and Bermuda Dunes (Palm Springs golf community) and mine in Carmel Valley.
My son Jamie is married, father of 2 boys Mitchell (14), Johnny (11), and 2 girls Sophie (8) and Juliet (3) and president and CEO of his own computer company-it is a geeky thing I sort of understand.
Hobbies and Fun: Gordy and I love to play golf, ski and bike. He is master of all of those sports and I survive but it isn't always pretty. We take vacations in Europe on bikes with a group of friends, the 5th such trip scheduled in Italy in upcoming September. It is kind of ride-eat-drink-ride-eat-drink, albeit the riding does ameliorate the damage of the other two-or so we tell each other.
No recent photos-not until they develope one which is wrinkle-free. Sue
