Katherine Chizek Stearley
High School Activities: GAA, Pep Club, Track, National Honors Society
Post High School:
• 1972-1976 attended Kearney State College (B.A. in Education)student government, track, K Club
• 1976 married Mike Stearley of Curtis, NE
• 1977-1978 taught Art/P.E. for Campbell Public Schools
• 1978 husband was commissioned a 2LT. in the U.S. Army
• 1978 began 18 years of moving to various Military Postings:
o Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis,
Indiana
o Heilbronn, Germany (taught school for
DOD Schools)
o St. Louis, Missouri (went back to
school)
o Pirmasens, Germany (taught school for
DOD Schools)
o Fort Hood, Texas (son Chris was born
in 1990)
o Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri (stay at
home mom)
• 1995 Husband retired and we moved to Fredericktown, Missouri, 80 miles south of St. Louis, MO)
• 1995-present, I have been teaching Art for grades 3, 4 & 5.
Travel: I have visited; Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Norway, Sweden, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and East Germany.
Hobbies: Gardening, Cooking, Bee Keeping and Knitting.
Highlights; Marriage for 32 years, birth of our son Chris, backpacking in the Alps, eating fine foods from around the world and drinking traditional wines and beers that have been established for hundreds of years, and finally raising Labrador puppies.
