Warning reading the following may constitute you wasting two minutes of your life that you will never get back.

After school I joined the Air Force. I spent my first two years in Biloxi, MS. I earned Honor Guard Airman of the Year for Keesler AFB in 1988 and a slew of other awards. I then spent two years in Korea. If you ever see a redheaded Korean I plead the Shaggy Rule “It wasn’t me”. Korea was a tour of excess. I received the Purple Liver Award on that tour. After eking out an Honorable Discharge I then came back to Claremont. I struggled for a few years as I learned to live on my own. I was faced with those difficult decisions – Beer or Electric Bill. Beer often won out. I eventually saw the light – actually it was dark as shit as they had shut my electricity off. I soon got into manufacturing, running and setting up machines, and after years of procrastinating I got an Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology. Proud to say I did this in 3 years while working 45-50 hrs a week. Since then I have been a CAD Designer for Bomar, a Manufacturing Engineer for Design Standards, and currently a Design Engineer for Ruger. I love the 3d CAD modeling aspect of my job; sometimes I pinch myself and can’t believe I get paid to do this. On the down side, manufacturing is a very unstable career these days and it’s not uncommon to find yourself in a new job every few years.

I’ve been happily married for five years. I married Lorraine Frechette of the Frechette Clan. We had a beautiful marriage in Jamaica, mon – best Rum in the world. We had gone out for years prior while she allowed me to make my transition into the bread winning, thought provoking, go getter I am today. No kids yet…tick-tick-tick. I’ve got a nice big house with 3 bathrooms (even more closets) just in case.

These days I enjoy breaking my computer (the upgrades that start with memory and end with a new motherboard), I live for football season, and enjoy lifting weights - much to my family’s chagrin. “It makes you bulky”…no, Burrito Supremes & Guinness make me bulky. I can still unrack 415 lbs and bench press it without a bench shirt – my goal is 500 with no equipment. Nothing better than being stronger than people half your age even if it looks like you got kicked out of the Chinese Buffet…”You go home now”

I heard I had a good time at the reunion. I guess Billy Idol wasn’t the only one dancing by himself. I’m afraid I may have ruined any chance of a political career I may have had – friggin’ digital age. I quickly realized that I had little clue who anyone was anymore. My how we’ve changed. Also, I seemed to have missed some of the O.G.s from back in the day. It was just me repping for the slacker crew. Maybe next reunion Scottie K. will not be tippin’ so many 40s beforehand and I’ll get there a little earlier. One day at a time brother.
