Today's Featured Biography
Michael Chadwick
After teaching in New Hampshire for several years we moved to Calais on the Maine coast in what is called Downeast Maine. I worked for 22 years as a high school principal in both Calais for 18 years and Houlton, Maine for 4 years and for the past twelve years have been employed as an elementary principal on the Passamaquoddy Indian Reservation located 20 miles from Calais. My wife Debbie and I met in college and this summer will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. She is a first grade teacher in a neighboring town of Princeton. We have two daughters, Laura who works at the area hospital as a lab technician and Katelyn who works as a nurse at the same hospital at times, and is married and living in Falmouth, Me. We have two step grandsons, Ethan & Kameron, and grandsons Aden, and Asher. Laura and our other grandsons, Tristan who is almost twelve and Seamus, two live 500 yards down the road from us on the tidal river that runs through our city. My work requires a lot of travel mostly to the southwestern USA almost monthly, and we also spend two weeks every February in the Virgin Islands and three weeks in the summer at some country in the world......two years ago was Honduras, last summer was Belize and Guatemala, this year back to Honduras. For this reason not really sure yet if I will make the reunion as not sure what my summer schedule will be when we get back from Honduras on the 13th of July, but will try to attend. I have not been back home or for that matter even to New Hampshire in over 20 years......... (update) Visited 3 years ago actually and spent part of a day riding around the town before heading back to southern NH where we were visiting. Other than that not much has changed in my life.....I did retire last June, but agreed to return to my same job for five more years with a deal worked out with the tribal school board, as we are in the process of breaking ground for a new school. Now preparing an exit strategy that will include 6 months in the USA and 6 months in the caribbean.......take care all will try to make it back but so far that has never happened I know.
