Today's Featured Biography
tom staszewski
Attended Oaklyn Public School from 1977 until 1983. I was one of the "Hi-Nella" kids. Did not follow most classmates to Collingswood High and graduate with them in 1987, instead went to Camden County Vocational & Technical School for grades 9-12. Best known at Oaklyn Public for being absent ALOT due to childhood illness(digestive issues), being fanatical about pro wrestling, music(KISS especially), wearing a different concert shirt almost daily (AC/DC, Van Halen and Cheap Trick were also big faves), along with having a Alice Cooper look-alike Dad who's band opened up concerts for Van Halen on tour in 1980(I was not very interested in school activities, sports, etc. so yes, I was best known for my "wierd" interests and home life. LOL)
Went on to work in the muisc business as a product buyer in 1987 for a record(remember those?)and tape distributor. Became a part time musician myself in the 80s/90s, including a stint as "Keith Moon" in a Who tribute act (I'm a drummer). Left the ailing music industry in 2003 to work at Jack & Jill Ice Cream Distributors, where I am currently a sales rep.
Married my better half, Monika, in 2000 and have been happily married since. No kids yet. The jury is still out on that one. LOL
Moved out of South Jersey after getting married and currently a happy condo owner on the riverfront area of Northeast Phila.
HATED school, but now as a 35 year old, healthy adult, ironically would love to go to a reunion to see where everyone ended up and how they are all doing these days.
Classmates included Daryl Turner, Curtis Phillips, Brian Sawka, Brian Watson, Steven Bush, Robin Sheridan, Dannielle Corboy, etc(it helps to still have my yearbooks to jog the memory).
