Today's Featured Biography
Judi Skorko Franks
My husband, Brett, and I have been married for 7 years and we are currently in the process of adopting a child from China. We are both members of the New Jersey Lighthouse Society and serve on the Preservation Committee (my husband's the chairperson of the comittee and a VP). We are also volunteer tour guides at Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City.
Yes, this old cougar is still dancing. I belong to a little dance troupe in Pitman, NJ called Dancelectric. We perform a show every year at Gloucester County College in order to raise money for the Fine Arts Program Scholarship Fund. We also perform at charity events such as the Variety Arts Festival sponsored by Rowan University. The festival is for children with special needs (autism, mental and physical disabilities, etc.). Not only do we get to perform for the children, but we interact with them as well by holding small workshops after the performance.
Besides ballet, tap, and jazz, I can now add Irish Step, contemporary/lyrical, and hip-hop to my resume of dance styles performed. It's definitely been interesting, especially hip-hop.
