Today's Featured Biography
Kate Bozony Laird
Moved from NY to Ventura, CA in 1981 and worked as Office Mgr. or Depart. Admin. for various Contractors connected to Pt. Magu Naval Air Station and CB Base at Port Hueneme, CA with Secret Clearance as well as office admin for husband's business. Was married for twenty years ... unable to have any children. Moved to Bakersfield, CA. Unable to continue work due to fibromyalgia. After divorce in 1997, did foster care and adopted two children (in 2019, currently 24 and 22) Both have mental health issues and struggle in life but are still loved unconditionally. With much TLC and lots of professional help, I was able to help one of them break the abusive cycle they were born into.
After being single for 18 years, I'm skipping past the next two marriages, both to men who lied and misrepresented who they really were from the beginning; I have always been emotionally strong and thankfully maintained healthy boundaries and refused to stay in an abusive marriage.
In 2016, I sold my home of 25 years in CA and moved back to NY to spend time with my Mom who was then 89 years old and still going strong but slowing down). I currently live in the rental unit on Mom's property on Wakeman Rd. where I was born and I am thankfully living "near" Mom and not "with" her. Update July, 2022: As Mom aged, I moved in with her in April of 2021 to ensure she was safe and I will never regret moving back to be near her. She has been my best friend for my entire life and I have so enjoyed these past six years with her before she passed peacefully in June of 2022; she couldn't wait to go be with Jesus.
Throughout the years, I came to fully understand God's love, guidance and protection through all that life throws at you. With Jesus at my side as Lord, Savior and Friend, I can stay strong and am thankful that God gave me the courage to listen and let Him direct my path so that, in His perfect timing, I could be near my Mom and enjoy our time together before she passed.
Enjoying being back in the Northeast and always enjoy hearing from any of my classmates.
