Brad Weaver

I have the best of all jobs, teaching science at the BOCES Career and Technical Education Center in Belmont, NY. This is the best because I can work with pre-engineering students in Project Lead the Way classes, work on alternative energy projects such as wind generation and bio-diesel fuel conversions with natural resources and power equipment technology, as well as forensic sciences with the criminal justice program. What better environment for a "science guy." The great thing is that students are now asking for new lessons and wanting to do science. How cool is that. I just finished Wind Master Teacher Training, making me one of eight certified teacher trainers for the State of New York.

Kahlin is going to be seven in September, and has already demonstrated an aptitude for science and teaching. He has come in to work with me when his school has been closed, and has taken to teaching the "students." Using the triple beam balance, microscope and doing the mentos/diet coke experiments are his forte.
It's amazing how a son can at the same time keep you feeling young and so old.

Rachel works for ALCAS, in info support. We are making progress in our goal to see ball games in all of the major league parks, working on the house (Kahlin would like a secret lab), and trying to control our book purchases until we expand the library space in the house.
