Where to begin?
Joined the Army Reserves before graduating, went to Ft. Benning, Ga. (Home of the Infantry) August-November 1988 for basic and AIT. worked odd jobs for a while, my last job was working at Quail Springs Mall in OKC as a Maintenance Mechanic. I have lived in OKC, Guthrie, Harrah, Paoli, OK and now Copperas Cove, Tx. Got married to the love of my life, Melinda Kerley, in July, 1997. I first met her through a cousin of mine back in 1992, she was the sister of a guy he worked with. I lost track of her after that, but we ran into each other in February 1997. Started dating, asked her to marry me and got married within 6 months. Ain't life grand!! My Beauiful stepdaughter, Samara, has been a blessing and heartache at times. She is a typical teenager but we cope. My son, Braden, is a lady's man. He is polite, courteous, and smart, what a combination. I have been Activated with the Army Reserves since January 2003 here at Ft. Hood, Tx. I am currently a Master Seargeant with the 2/395th Field Artillery, 120th Infantry Brigade, 1st Army Division West. We currently train all the Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers that arrive here at Ft. Hood before heading to Afganistan and Iraq in everything from weapons training to Force Protection. No, I have not been overseas, as this keeps me here preparing soldiers for combat. I have volunteered several times to go overseas, but have not been accepted. Something tells me they think my job is too important for me to go.
