Today's Featured Biography
Sarah Marshall
During my time at MHS I was involved in Drama (member of thespian troop #75), Speech team, Orchestra (played Violin), Softball, Prom comittee, And was a Vice president on ASB my sophmore/Junior year. I was also the graduation commencement speaker.
I also was involved in all of the major school activities when they came around,(Living history day, the easter egg hunt, volunteered at the blood drive, homecomings, dornbecker fund raisers, ect.)
Even though I was very involved in school activities I was still a pretty shy person (except around my friends). And my grades were so-so. I pretty much was terrible at math and science, so i engulfed myself in the arts. I loved drama and was involved as much as possible. One of my favorite memories in High school was being in the musical "Crazy for you".
After School I went to PCC and Majored in buisness management. The whole plan was to own my own small buisness (a dance studio). Balancing school and a job was rough. I moved in with my boufriend at the time. Money got tight so I got a better job. I moved from working at Blockbuster as an assistant manager (a job that I had had since my sophmore year at H.S.) to a much better paying job working as a collections rep for AT&T wireless.
I was making good money, but hours were killing me. School was boring me and becoming a strain, so I took some "time off". I worked there for about a year when I got Mono. I was so sick that I was in the hospital. My doctor faxed a note to my employer, but my boss's wife was having a baby and he wasnt in the office to recieve it. The Person standing in for him didnt see the note, so they fired me. When I got better I found I had no job.
I called the better Buisness beuru and guess what? They sued them for me!! So I got some money to live off for a little bit. I ended up working for a software company in L.O. I was promoted quickly, and found myself making excellent money, But........ I went to work in a cubicle everyday. I really started to hate my job.
I was LIVING in the movie "office space". i was in hell.
My boyfriend and I (who had been dating for 4 years) split, and in the same week, I managed to total my car (wich was my pride and joy). Within a month I was so depressed I wasnt functioning well. I decided I hated my life. I was living in my mothers sewing room, driving my dads old beat up geo tracker, and going to a job that made me want to slit my wrists. Soo......
So I decided I needed a change. The only thing I could remeber loving was being around children, so I quit my Job and went to nanny school. I started being a temp nanny, and nannying for hotels in downtown portland. I was making good enough money, and after I graduated I was able to move out.
I moved in with a group of girls I met at a club down town. Lol. I hardly knew them, but we ended up sharing a big 400,000 house on bull mountain in Tigard. We became fast friends.
I got an awsome job working for a cancer patient in NE. I took care of her two young daughters. It was a bit rocky in the start, because she really didnt want me there just NEEDED me there. But after awhile we got used to each other, and I became part of the family. I worked for them for two years.
Living in tigard with the roomies, I dated alot, and partied alot, and LEARNED ALOT. :) After awhile we all decided it best to move on. One of the roomies and I had become best friends and we moved out together.
After about 6 months she got engaged. I ended up moving out alone for the first time. I was working for a family in Beaverton with a 2 year old. I moved into apartments a block away. I still work for them but have since moved.
My apartments were converted into condos and I discovered I HATED beaverton. :) SO I took a leap and did something I always wanted to do. I moved Downtown. It has been quite the adventure, but I have to say I absolutly love it :) This past fall I enrolled at PSU. My new major is something I have always been good at and something I enjoy, Art. :)Well more specifically Graphic design.
The plan is still to own my own dance studio, after i have been working in design for awhile, and Have started a family. By then I should have start up capitol, and be ready for all the responsibility owning a small buisness has in store.
Anyway Im moving forward and very happy. I have been dating a great guy who just moved in, and things in life are really looking up :)

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
