Rebecca Wagner Thomas

After graduation, Becky attended Penn State University where she majored in Wildlife and Fisheries Science (class of 2005, WFS Honor Bearer). She married Josh Thomas (JHS class of 97) in 2004 and they settled in the central PA area when Becky accepted a position at Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park after graduation. Becky's career highlights have included bottle feeding and raising two cougar cubs, caring for three black bears, two bobcats, and wild mustangs. She recently became involved in raising a pack of baby wolves from three weeks of age. Accepted as a part of the pack, Becky has enjoyed every minute of her involvement with these amazing animals. She also manages a staff of wonderful employees, although sometimes managing the animals is easier than managing the people. After some serious soul-searching, Becky and her husband Josh decided to relocate to Colorado in 2010 for Becky to begin pursuing her MS/PhD in Natural Resources at Colorado State University. It has been a difficult decision to leave such a great job, but after living in Pennsylvania for 27 years, she doesn't want to regret opting out of this opportunity. Becky will be working on research funded by the USFWS on Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. Becky and Josh are busy at home renovating their 1890's farmhouse and caring for their two rescued English Springer Spaniels and their cat. They are active in their church as youth volunteers. Becky still loves being active, snowboarding, hiking, and anything else involving the great out doors. She's looking forward to seeing everyone from the class of 2001 and can't believe it's been 10 years!
