Today's Featured Biography
Karen Cole Roundtree
I am currently working overnights as an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a teaching and research hospital that changes out organs with the efficiency of changing the oil in your car! I am now married for the second time. My husband, Bill Roundtree, has been teaching guitar (bass and lead) since he was 17 years old. He is extremely talented, and sweet, and doesn't whine about helping with daily chores. God love him for that!!! Why didn't the first marriage work? The first lesson I learned from my first marriage... if you love music, don't marry someone with no musical inclinations. The second lesson was that you can do anything by yourself if left to yourself long enough. (I once tore a 1981 Ford Fairmont engine down to the lifters because my first husband was "sure I could do a better job all by myself". He had something better to do that day.) End story.... I now know my capabilities, limitations, and tolerances in this life. See? There's always a reason for everything!
Children? No. Luckily. There is a hereditary "gliche" that nearly killed my sister, Ellen, when she was 26. My brother's, sister's, and my blood are 3 times thicker than that of the average person. If I had become pregnant, there would have been a good chance of my dying of stroke or heart attack due to clotting. Instead we have ferrets! I have owned ferrets since 1990, and they still remain the quietest, smartest pets I've ever had! They are our "babies".
