All Are Welcome
In recent light of some concerns expressed,
there are some of us who feel that they
might have slipped through the cracks,
were neglected, disregarded, or ignored,
in their short time at Ramey High, and
are a bit hesitant to now come forward.
Let this be a place where we can all be
who we are.
For those of us who fall into the above
mentioned situations, you are still one
of us.
We breathed the same air. If there was
ever a time to let it all out or put it
behind us, the time has come.
There are those who we will never see
again, for whatever reason; be it death,
destiny or choice.
But if there is even a flicker of hope
in what we are all about and trying to
accomplish, well then let it be now.
The general consensus is that the teen
age years with all those imploding hormones,
can be the most formative, rebellious,
and now retrospective of our lives. We can
change our minds and way of thinking about
ourselves and our past. For if we come to
terms with our past we come to terms with
ourselves, and who we are now.
Let this be a site where we can reach out
and maybe reconnect with those who we
wanted to say something to all those years
ago but never did. Time is short, a lot
shorter than we think.
Many of us will reach that space in time
when and where we wished we woulda/
shoulda/coulda/ done things differently.
If your time at Ramey High falls into
this pool of thought, well reach out
touch someone, you might be surprised
that they were waiting for someone from
the past to reach out too. Tomorrow may
never come my friends.

Today's Featured Biography
Jeffery Sparks
I left "the Rock" June '65 to the sounds of "Get Off My Cloud" with mostly great memories of waves, babes and more sun than I should of, to return the "vast cultural wasteland" called the southwest, Altus, Oklahoma.
Tried to acclimate via personal automotive expressions and a "toss off job" of staff photographer for a small local daily newspaper. Moved to California, summer of '67, to study photography and surviving away from home. Accomplished more on latter than former though I went through couple of staff jobs including Orange Coast Daily Pilot, another small local daily newspaper, owned by LA Times. Moved to Northern Ca. to study Shakespeare full time, living alternate lifestyles on farms and in wooden water-towers finally graduating in '71 w/diploma initially teaching film and photography in the Ca. and later in Ft. Smith, AR. Came back to OK in '75 and have been working full time in computers since early 80's, including stints with FDIC 88-95, large call center start-ups and Sprint since 01. Have gotten back into photography, a Y2K analog pursuit, due to daughter encouragement and taunts having lived to experience a "digital convergence" recently at home that I only dreamed about when working in TV stations in '70's. Started RVing when I was a FDIC MIB though the lifestyles didn't agree. Wonder if anyone else is "RV'ing" to reunion in Sep 2013?
Wanted to post the graduation video from my daughter's college graduation. She did the hard part and is accepted to the University of Oklahoma Master of Fine Arts program. Enjoy! See movie on my YouTube channel
Wish we could get everybody on this board but then what would the virtual slums of facebook and classmates do?!?

Cigarettes and chili con pappas @ beer garden?
Saturday morning matinees @ base theater?
Skin diving, passing Scuba @ Crashboat and island of Vieques?

EXCERPT FROM CLASSMATE'S BIO:
Cruising the classmates boards.... Was pretty into this board at the beginning of the century ;-) but didn't pay for years and they took down all my stuff....classmates.com sucks!
But other than cruising computers for fun and a living :-) I have a daughter in college, who'll be 21 and a senior this fall and is best thing in my life as I approach retirement or some facsimile there of. Lost Mom in '02, my wife in '05 and now have a new girlfriend and have gotten back into photography at the teasing / urging / intimidation from my daughter who is a photographic prodigy. I look forward to finishing my series of Quartz Mountains in large format and going to my Ramey AFB Highschool reunion this fall in Fla. and all in all life is pretty good even living in OKC and working full time and past 60.
Royal Palm Grove by Jeffery
Classmates thing of calling people who pass by with "visits on" called signatures is lame however if anyone wants to give a shout out then please email as I seem to check infrequently please do via email and I'll get back to you...Keep wanting to write about all the people that were the "characters" that aren't even on the "radar" today ie. on the Altus side, Winston Offill, Phil Cather Ramey and Altus, Bob Krause and of course Jerry B., Ramey, still consider best friend even though I haven't seen him in over 40 years and have exchanged emails lately and he's not going to make Destin, but I'm looking forward to spending extra time with Doug and Jan and Jim N. and how about that "cruiser" Jan Grider. Love, Peace & random acts of Kindness 'all!
Destin was a blast, the "all class blast" but really... nice to see Michie, Barb and everyone else. Beautiful even with mini-hurricane "blast" when we first got there. And though it was hard to "socialize" with mate from another part of country the Miller's including Carol and Jan made her feel welcome, sneaking off to smoke with Carol, Doug's never seen her smoke, cough cough. Hope to see even more in PR March 2011, listening Jerry B. and the rest of you?
Peace,
Js
