Today's Featured Biography
Janice Duff Sloan
After graduating from RBHS, I married an older boy from Hixson HS. That marriage only lasted 3 years. The day after the divorce was final, I started working for ClubCorp at the Walden Club in downtown Chattanooga.
That ClubCorp job turned into a 20 year career that included food service, catering, sales and marketing, and management. I was tranferred to Atlanta in 1980 and have been here ever since. I met my husband, Gary, here in 1983 and we married in 1987. It was a pretty cool wedding - a Southern theme, getting married and having the reception on a 3-story paddle-wheel boat at Stone Mountain. My best friend from high school, Jerrie Hickey, was my Maid of Honor.
In 1996, just before the Olympics came to Atlanta, I was offered the General Manager's position at The Vinings Club. This beautiful club offered fine dining, a great view of Atlanta, an athletic club with raquetball courts and an indoor pool. There for only 2 years, I became pregnant at the age of 42 with our first son. I left the corporate world and concentrated on being a wife and mom. We now have been blessed with 2 little boys. When most of our peers have college kids and even grandchildren, we have 2 in elementary school. We did a lot of traveling during those many years before the boys arrived. We look forward to traveling again soon and sharing new places with Zach & Dylan.
I love hearing from former classmates, and hope you will feel free to just drop a note and say "hello". As the Class Administrator for this site, I hope you will remember to send in pictures, tidbits of news about yourself and other classmates, and just have some fun with this!

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
