Today's Featured Biography
Cameron Albin
Following high school I studied at New York University where I recieved my Bachelors. I returned to Austin where I worked in theatre and radio. In late 1999/early 2000 I joined the United Sates Marine Corps Officer Candidates program and was commisioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. After attending the six month Basic School, ten week Infantry Officer's Course, and six week Light Armored Vehicle Leader's Course I was stationed in Camp Pendelton, California, where I took command of a light armor platoon in 1st Light Armored Recconaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Following 9/11 we were deployed over seasas part of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, whee we participate in operations in the Horn of Africa and Afghanistan as part of Operaton Endurring Freedom. I returned in mid-2002 and was deployed again in January 2003 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. We crossed the border on March 20th, an spent the next month in combat operations, finally culminating in our attack on Baghdad and susequent siezure of Tikrit, Saddam's home-town. We eventually raturned to Kuwait and then to the States. I am currently a 1stLieutenant and the Executive Officer for Charlie Company, 1stLAR, and will deploy again in June for another six-month tour over seas.
