Today's Featured Biography
James Caldwell
Following graduation I joined the Air Force as an Aviation Cadet, spending all my flying time in Texas. I soloed in the Piper Cub and T-6 Texan, for a total of 175 hours. Six months prior to graduation at Williams Air Force Base I was in an auto accident enroute resulting in elimination from the program due to injuries. I finished my two-year enlistment in 1956 with the 1110th Air Support Group, which was scheduled for overseas duty. We traveled via train from Denver to NY, ship to Germany, via plane to France, Italy, Greece, and to Turkey. On my return trip via plane to Athens, Zurich, Switzerland to Germany, then NY,USA. I tried several different jobs in Utah before deciding to move to the Los Angeles Area where I worked for Western Electric, Pacific Finance and First Western Bank, which became Sanwa Bank California by the time I retired in 1994.
I was married in 1959; divorced in 1971, have 5 children. I married my current wife, Helen, in 1974. She too, is a retired banker.
We reside in Woodland Hills, about 25 miles from down town Los Angeles.
My hobbies include woodworking, construction, reading history and hiking.
We enjoy traveling and have visited many states and several countries.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
