Carlynn Thatcher Thatcher
After High School, I went to Ricks College, Rexburg, Idaho.
I worked on Buffalo Bill Cody's Dude Ranch in Cody, Wyoming.
I worked as a nanny in Salt Lake City. I worked in a couple of sewing factories in Provo, Utah.
I got married in 1977 to L. Shayne Thatcher, he is a land surveyor, now licensed in seven states.
We have five children: Royce, Wyatt, Reed, Morgan & McKenzie.
We have moved 29 times and lived in Washington, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Maryland and Texas twice.
We are back in Lewiston, Idaho, and love it. We plan never to move again!
We lived on Whidbey Island for 18 years and owned our own business for 12 years in Freeland. Due to the banking bailout in 2008, we lost everything in 2010. We had gotten into land development and were very successful.
I worked for several years at the WalMart in Oak Harbor as the fabric and craft manager. When my husband started his business in Freeland, I worked for them and became the office manager. That is what I have done most of my career.
My favorite job is when I worked at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation in the Identification department, working with fingerprint cards. I love data entry.
I also loved my job at Morrow Energy in Midland, Texas. It is a company that builds gas plants at landfields, and garbage dumps. They were a great company to work for. It was like family. They treated us well.
Several years ago I went back to college online. I am attending BYU-Idaho. I first got my Administrative Assistant certificate, but didn't want to major in business.
I am now a Family History major. I truly love it. It has really helped me with my own family history and brick walls.
I have completed my Family History certification. And am currently working on my Advanced Family History Research Certificate.
I don't really want to be a professional. But I will see where this leads me.
My husband and I love exploring and galivanting wherever we live. We have seen some amazing things all over this beautiful country!
We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. God and family are the most important thing to us.
