Today's Featured Biography
Bob Overly
I served in the Army from 1968 to 1969 and was stationed in Korea. On Sept. 11, 1971, I married Donna Carlson of Bremerton (East High Class of ’68). I received an A.S. from Olympic College in 1970, a B.S. from WSU, 1972 and an M.S. from WSU in 1974. For over 30 years I worked for Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Fish and Wildlife Officer. I officially retired in 2003, but worked 1500 hours a year in the same capacity for 2004 and again 2005. Since retiring I have also worked with friend, Rob, doing remodeling construction.
Donna and I have two children, John (born 1977) and Anne (born 1980). John is in the Navy currently stationed at NAS Whidbey Island. John is married and he and his wife have six children. John is a career sailor, having served his country now over 20 years John and Stephanie and kids still live in Oak Harbor, WA. Oldest Grandson, Jacob, married in 2013 and he and his wife have two cute little girls.
Anne married Mason Gantala in Los Cabos, Mexico May 2, 2011. She works at a elite consulting firm and is working consulting at Expedia. Mason continues his work for iShip as a Technical Support Specialist. They still live in Bellevue, Washington. Quinnten was born May 26, 2016. His brother, Ty, is working part time and attending college - he still lives with at home.
Donna and I lived in Kirkland, WA for 25 years, but moved to Bremerton in 2002 after I took a station transfer. Our new home is in East Bremerton enjoying views of Seattle and Mt. Rainier to the east and the Olympic Mts. to the west. I enjoy gardening, fishing, crabbing, clamming, and berry picking. Currently I am actively involved in the Bremerton Sportsmen’s Club, Kitsap Poggie Club and the Kitsap Co.Dahlia Society.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
