Today's Featured Biography
Rich Adams
My story is pretty simple. After high school I served in both the reserve and active duty components of the Army while concurrently working on my BA. Also kept at the music thing doing lots of recording and live work. Alas, rock stardom was not in the cards. I also started playing semi-pro football (which was weird as I really wasn't a very good football player during school). All that running and pushups during my army stint paid off I guess. The late 80's / early 90's found me married and working in sales (I sold rental car franchises....rather dull). I then decided to accept a supervisory position at a Issaquah based vocational rehab provider working with developmentally disabled adults. I had coached special olympics and TA'd for special ed, so this seemed like a good fit, not to mention a helluva lot less stressful. It was here that I fell into the landscaping industry; managing CEI's landscape, janitorial and recycling crews. I also reconnected with schoolmate, Anne Twiss. She and I stay in touch to this day. During the early part of my 10 year run at CEI, my first marriage came to an end. Sad, but it happens more often then not these days. She and I remain good friends. After 7 years at CEI, my good friend, mentor and boss quit to do "other things". This was the begining of the end for me at CEI. I stayed on another 3 years or so and decided to see how I did in the private sector. Landscaping has been the gig for me and after a couple of bum jobs, moves to New England and Arizona, another marriage, another divorce and a third marriage, I happily call Issaquah my home and have found a truly great work situation with an excellent company. It's been an interesting 20+ years since June 1983. I wouldn't change a second of it and it just keeps getting more interesting.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
